Ready for the Summer
Make your entertaining easy with a simple painted terrace
For a fuss-free garden that’s ready for hosting, go for simple decking and fencing using Cuprinol colour and protection. Combining both, this chill-out area is the height of laid-back luxe, layering bohemian furnishings and bright colours over pared-back Urban Slate fencing. The perfect spot for lazy days in the sun... and late-night drinks under the stars.
Upcycled Table
Garden furniture doesn’t need to cost a fortune. For a cheap and cheerful addition to your outside space, take an old wooden pallet and give it a quick sand before applying a coat or two of Cuprinol Garden Shades (we’ve used Dazzling Yellow, left). Once it’s dry, pop four wheels on the bottom for an upcycled outdoor coffee table. A surprisingly simple but effective way of moving drinks around your decking – and a real conversation piece!
Customised Pots
Paint your fence in Urban Slate so you’ve got the perfect backdrop for bright and bold colours. Accessorise the area with painted plant pots in Dazzling Yellow and Terracotta, and complement with bright-red cushions for a far-flung feel.
Urban Oasis
Turn a small outdoor space into your very own urban retreat…
1. If you’re going to make the best use of your space, you’ll need storage. Give some old crates a splash of colour on the inside, and hang them on the wall at different heights. Seagrass makes a fitting setting for a mini herb garden.
2. Set the scene and style the space with strung fairylights that encourage using the area in the evening as well as the day.
3. For your garden furniture choose colours that really sing, such as Sage, to make the space feel warm and welcoming for visiting friends and family
4. For larger areas like floors, fences and walls, use lighter tones to create a sense of space: try Silver Birch for decking – anti-slip and protective – and Ashen White for masonry. Small gardens can feel like an extra room with a little imagination!
